Hamsini Ravi is a Communications Specialist in the social and development sector and writer, based in Mumbai, India. She has a decade of experience in working with both donors and non-profit organizations to articulate their theory of change and impact, her work has spanned the realms of brand and communications strategy, campaign management, advocacy communications and media relations. Hamsini is also an award winning writer, with an interest in themes such as gender, public health and culture. She has been published in print and online publications such as The Hindu, The New Indian Express, The Swaddle and The Huffington Post India.

Hamsini is passionate about enabling non-profits to leverage smart and patient capital to create transformative change, she believes in the power of storytelling to advance narrative change. Having worked across themes such as public health, child rights, mental health and gender, Hamsini brings a keen eye, rigour and a commitment to balance the heart and the mind, while delivering work for clients. She has a Master’s in Development Studies at the Institute of Development Studies in the University of Sussex, UK, and a master’s in Mass Communication from Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication in India. In 2017, she was awarded a Fellowship from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs to pursue a short-term course in ‘Media Campaigns for Social and Development Change’ at the Radio Netherlands Training Centre, Hilversum, Netherlands.

Outside of work, Hamsini is a hands-on mother to her young children, loves books and podcasts and traveling to spend time with nature. She often volunteers time and resources to nonprofits working with underserved children and women and is constantly looking to further her ambition of living a low-waste life.
