Sara Toulson

Superpower: Building the proverbial bus while it is full speed ahead.

With an idealist’s heart and an entrepreneur’s spirit, Sara loves removing financial and operational stumbling blocks for organizations making great social innovations. To this end, Sara has worked in a range of capacities within the nonprofit and education sectors, from Admissions at a private, all-girls school in Connecticut, to Communications and Development at an NGO in Tanzania. In addition to being on the Black Fox Philanthropy team, Sara currently runs her own organization, The Mindful Applicant through which she is building a social-emotional learning platform for adolescents.

Originally from a small town on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland, Sara currently lives in Boston, MA with her husband and daughter. She has a BA in Art History and International Studies from Williams College, and an MBA, Social Impact Concentration from Boston University where she graduated with honors. She loves going on adventures with her family, baking without a recipe, and thrift shopping.
